Terms of Service

Last updated: February 23, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TrueStory and related services (the “Service”) provided by Revenue Mechanics LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using TrueStory, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. Your use of Jira Cloud and Atlassian Forge is also subject to Atlassian's applicable terms and policies.

2. Description of Service

TrueStory is a Jira Cloud application built on Atlassian Forge that reads acceptance criteria from Jira issues, maps them to Salesforce metadata and behavioral checks, and executes those checks against a connected Salesforce org. The Standard tier provides deterministic, rule-based verification without AI or machine learning. The Pro tier offers optional AI-powered analysis via a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model, where you provide your own API key for a supported AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). TrueStory is designed for use with Salesforce sandbox environments. We strongly recommend against connecting production Salesforce orgs. The Service may be offered under free, trial, or paid plans. Pricing and billing terms, if applicable, will be presented at the time of purchase or plan selection.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Jira Cloud subscription to use the Service. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

4. Account and Access

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Jira and Salesforce credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when connecting your Salesforce org.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your connected accounts.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. Permitted Use

You may use the Service to:

  • Verify Jira acceptance criteria against Salesforce org metadata
  • Run behavioral tests to validate Salesforce configuration
  • Generate verification reports and traceability matrices
  • Store metadata indexes for field label resolution

6. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Use the Service to access Salesforce orgs without proper authorization
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use the Service to transmit malicious code or interfere with other users
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written consent
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Exceed reasonable usage limits that may degrade the Service for other users. We may enforce rate limits or usage caps to protect the Service.
  • Use the Service in violation of applicable export control or sanctions laws

7. Salesforce Org Access

TrueStory connects to your Salesforce org via OAuth 2.0. By connecting your org, you authorize TrueStory to:

  • Read object and field metadata via the Tooling API and REST describe endpoints
  • Query validation rules, page layouts, and field-level security settings
  • Create and delete temporary test records for behavioral verification, and may update those test records during the test workflow (test records are automatically cleaned up on a best-effort basis after each test run)

You are responsible for ensuring that the Salesforce user account used for OAuth authentication has appropriate permissions and that your org's data handling policies permit automated metadata queries and test record creation.

Sandbox recommendation: We strongly recommend connecting a Salesforce sandbox environment rather than a production org. Behavioral tests create and delete records, which may trigger automations (Flows, Process Builder rules, Apex triggers, workflow rules) configured in your org. You are solely responsible for any side effects caused by automated processes that execute in response to TrueStory's test record operations.

8. Data Ownership

You retain all rights to your Jira and Salesforce data. We do not claim ownership of any content processed through the Service. Verification results and reports generated by the Service are your property. You own your data and outputs; we own the Service and its underlying technology.

9. Confidentiality

We treat your Jira issue content, Salesforce metadata, and verification results as confidential information. We will not disclose your confidential information to third parties except as required to provide the Service through Atlassian Forge and your connected Salesforce org, or as required by law. This obligation does not apply to information that is publicly available, independently developed by us without reference to your confidential information, or lawfully received from a third party without restriction. This obligation survives termination of these Terms.

10. Feedback

If you provide suggestions, feature requests, or other feedback about the Service, you grant Revenue Mechanics LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback into the Service without obligation to you.

11. Data Processing

Revenue Mechanics LLC processes your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If your organization requires a formal data processing addendum (DPA) to comply with applicable data protection regulations, please contact us at security@revmech.ai and we will make one available.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, algorithms, and documentation, is owned by Revenue Mechanics LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, service marks, or trade names.

13. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. The Service operates within the Atlassian Forge runtime, and availability is subject to Forge platform uptime. We are not liable for downtime caused by Atlassian infrastructure, Salesforce API outages, or force majeure events. We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revenue Mechanics LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the greater of (a) the amounts paid by you to Revenue Mechanics LLC in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

TrueStory provides verification results based on metadata queries and behavioral tests. These results are informational and should not be the sole basis for production deployment decisions. You are responsible for independent validation of critical configurations.

Revenue Mechanics LLC is not liable for any consequences arising from automation side effects triggered by TrueStory's behavioral test record operations in any Salesforce environment, including but not limited to: Flows, Apex triggers, Process Builder rules, workflow rules, data modifications by triggered processes, or any other unintended changes to data or configurations. This applies to both sandbox and production environments, though we strongly recommend sandbox-only use.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that verification results will be complete or accurate in all cases. TrueStory's behavioral testing features are designed for use with sandbox environments. Use of behavioral testing features in production Salesforce environments is at your own risk.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Revenue Mechanics LLC harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

17. Termination

You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling TrueStory from your Jira instance and discontinuing use of the Service. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the security and integrity of the Service. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before suspension or termination, except where immediate action is necessary to prevent harm. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

18. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

19. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware.
